Subjectively, a lot of people who got into alignment seemed to get into it through AI Safety Camp and some of these people have moved on to do good work. In addition, AI Safety Camp is much cheaper to run than the other comparable options I know of like MATS - thus I think it is dollar-for-dollar the most effective way at converting money to AI safety talent that I'm aware of. This is largely based on vibes and not explicit calculation, but either way I think it's definitely worth funding.
